After dropping "Here Now," Montana of 300 is back with another single, "WTS Now," off his upcoming album Fire in the Church. Like "Here Now," "WTS Now" makes it clear that Montana has been experimenting with a more melodic sound for his debut album, as opposed to the heart-pounding street raps with which he first earned recognition. He's crossing over into his new sound well, proving that his songwriting skills extend to material that's ready for the mainstream.
"Here Now" is too smooth, with an airy beat from Montana's go-to producer Charisma 808, to be called a street record, though there's a decent amount of the violent content with which Montana has traditionally dealt. The most effective part of the song is when he explains how his music has caused a bevy of women to go after his heart (and his pocketbook). Though they may be "wit the shit" now, Montana knows better.
"WTS Now" arrived today with an accompanying music video, which you can watch below. Fire in the Church is dropping on May 6.
Quotable Lyrics
Still got pistols hid in every room inside my crib now
Knew I was gon' blow likr a grenade, I pull that pin out
All I do is win now, so I know what it is now
They figure since I'm poppin' I got money I could lend out
