James Fauntleroy's SoundCloud dumps are something to treasure, but sometimes you're only presented with pieces of the puzzle. "Evolve" is one of three songs released by the prolific songwriter today, but it's the shortest song of the lot, and while it has some of the most interesting sounds of the most recent offering, it's hear and gone too fast to hold on to much. However, within the collage of music he's been releasing over the last year or two, it's as essential a gear as any, just one of many small but powerful ideas that become more clear in the grand scheme of things.
