As he tends to do, James Fauntleroy shared a couple of new records today, one of which is the acoustic guitar-driven "Let Me Go (With You)". While the glimmering chords are the central part of the instrumental, from the beginning some 80s pan flute synths and a clicking drum arrangement give it a feeling somewhere between Hounds Of Love-era Kate Bush and Ocarina Of Time-era video game soundtracks.
Just as it hits its groove, the song fades rather abruptly, working as much of Fauntleroy's recent work has, dissipating as the idea is complete. Will we be getting an album anytime soon? Who cares when the loose tracks are this good.
Quotable Lyrics:
Can I just go with you?
I dont wanna be here, either
Not when you're the perfect place
Can I just go with you?
Girl I could leave it alone
If you'd just let me go
Let me go with you
Let Me Go (With You)
