We didn’t see this comeback coming, but it’s a welcome throwback. Slim, one quarter of the R&B group 112, has just released a new single with Rich Homie Quan. 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the group’s debut album 112, and the performances must have gotten Slim’s creative juices flowing because he’s planning to release a solo album called Re-Fueled in May.
“Never Break Up” is an infectious club hit, with Slim not shying away from modern musical tools like Auto-Tune. Rich Homie spits a quick verse at the beginning of the track before ceding the mic to Slim. He adds a few lines here and there throughout the track, including a bridge toward the end of the song, but Slim is the star here. What do y’all think of Slim’s comeback?
Quotable Lyrics
We ain't never gon break
I solemnly swear, if we break up
promise we gon make up
I promise to keep it 100
and never do no favors
I promise to never leave ya
cuz I know I can't replace ya
...hold up, wait, Slim sing it for me
