Talented producer Flying Lotus is always pushing the limits of his productions, most recently on his excellent 2014 album You’re Dead! Yesterday, FlyLo shared a trio of tracks with no further context, with two of them featuring bassist and frequent collaborator Thundercat. “You’re Dead! Haleys Line//thundercat” is one of the tracks featuring Thundercat.
The instrumental track features fast-paced drum work alongside Thundercat’s nimble bass work. Flying Lotus adds some underwater sounding samples, but otherwise lets his partner's six-string bass do most of the talking. The title and other two songs suggest this track came from the You're Dead! recording sessions.
