Delaware trio Cypher Clique skipped SXSW this year in order to work on some new music. The first track they've decided to release is titled "Make U Smile" and is produced by D-Major, whom the group has worked with frequently in the past.
The beat is light and pleasant, while the rapping is slick, fast, and detailed, with each emcee dropping off an extended verse on how he doesn't need to stunt in order to prove his game. The faint singing on the chorus, when the instrumental veers into extraterrestrial territory, is also a highlight. Chances are you'll be smiling by the end of the track.
"Make U Smile" is set to appear on Cypher Clique's summer project, which doesn't yet have a title. Stay tuned for further details.
