It's been a few years since the undeniable banger, "Whip My Hair," and Willow Smith's music has continued to become more mature and experimental. Her latest track, "JIMI," which one would assume by its psychedelic feel is a reference to Hendrix (the one before Future), continues down that lane, sounding a little bit like early Erykah Badu.
As she's been doing lately, the song is just a standalone SoundCloud release. No word on if we'll be getting a new project soon, but we're pretty into the release strategy she's got going (and one that her brother Jaden generally shares). Are you on board with Willow yet?
Quotable Lyrics:
Back on earth trying to wreak some havoc
Dang that was crazy what just happened, just happened
I've done it millions of times, but not the millions of times
I guess where, when we die
I'm back as an indigo, back in the density
Back to the days of three
Back to the days of me
Back to the days where we see
JIMI
