We haven't received a new album from underground hip-hop mainstay Aesop Rock since 2012's body of work, Skelethon. The Rhymesayers signee returns, finally, with not only a new single but a music video for it, and an album announcement.
"Rings" kicks off the roll out for his upcoming album The Impossible Kid, which is set to drop on April 29th. The lyricist twists his words together over a winding, percussion-heavy beat, reminiscing on his past life-- things he used to do, how he was. A press release says that this album will find Aesop opening up about his personal life more than ever before, including a "turbulent handful of years following a friend’s death that culminated in Aesop leaving his adopted home of San Francisco to live in a barn out in the woods, where he recorded the foundations of The Impossible Kid."

Quotable Lyrics
Hard to admit that I used to paint
Natural light on a human face
Stenciled fire on his roommates bass
It was blooming addiction
A miss and a push and a pigment
