Like many of his peers, Wiz Khalifa is constantly recording. That work ethic, paired with a demanding touring schedule usually means songs often slip between the the cracks, and it seems "Fake" may have been one of those records. At one point, Khalifa mentions that he's expecting a son, and unless he's got another kid on the way that we don't know about, that line alone dates this back a couple of years.
In general, the song is pretty timeless by Wiz's standards, operating within the same lane he's been dabbling in since Kush & OJ. Of course, there's no shortage of authentic brand new material from teh Taylor Gang rapper either, as he just released his Khalifa album the other week. How does this one stack up to his most recent output?
Quotable Lyrics:
Smoke good weed to compliment my brain,
Ripped jeans to compliment my J's
I grind weed to put it in a J
On magazines and that center stage
What you make in a year I'm get in a day
Drink my fears away, work hard so I blew all my peers away
Fake
