Sir Michael Rocks hasn't been as visible on the forefront of the hip-hop scene as he was a few years ago. He's still making music and pushing the boundaries of music, but not quite as frequently. He continues to diverge further from The Cool Kids' sound-- he was on a post-Cool Kids sound with his first string of solo mixtapes (Premier Politics, Rocks Report) but on recent projects like his Populair EP we hear him get even more experimental and weird with it.
This latest leak, which features affiliate Shorty K, takes its cue from bubbling rappers like Lil Uzi Vert (specifically on the ad-lib and flow side of things), and generally, sounds like it belongs in ATL. The concept itself is unique-- taking a nap after a busy day of work (whether that was trapping/9-5/school) is so essential and a global idea everyone can relate too. "I ain't lazy I just take a nap right after I trap," Mikey croons with light auto-tune. The record itself might be incomplete or a snippet because it abruptly stops after 1:23.
Quotable Lyrics
Long day in the trap
I'm gon' take a nap
I'ma get this money
I'ma count this cash
