Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign have teamed up for some excellent collabs in the couple of years that Ty has been signed to Taylor Gang. Upon seeing the title of their track on Wiz' new album, one might think the duo has dropped off a banger akin to "Post Up." But the Khalifa standout "Lit" is a woozy stoner's anthem on which both TGOD leaders sound inspired by their commitment to all things "fire."
A version of the track originally came last summer, and there's no doubt Ty Dolla's singing contributions make it that much more potent. Four Pittsburgh producers -- J. Card, Big Jerm, E. Dan, and Ricky P -- combine to create the "Lit" backdrop. These guys have really done well to give Wiz a distinctive sound -- airy stoner beats with a little bit of trap edge.
An entirely new instrumental emerges just before the 4:00 mark -- one that's even more ambient -- and Wiz' steady, monotone raps immerse the listener in a secondhand high. Sure, it's a familiar subject, but it's one Wiz always approaches with conviction.

Quotable Lyrics
We don't put it on in the crib if it ain't fire
Won't even pull up to the club in it if it ain't fire
Won't smoke, won't pass, won't hit it if it ain't fire
Don't spend no time on a bitch if she ain't fire
