On Monday, Statik Selektah and KXNG Crooked released "February 12 (Part 1)," a reference to the release date of their joint album Statik KXNG. Today, they release Part 2, another gift for the fans that serves to illustrate Statik's bottomless supply of beats and Crooked's bottomless supply of bars.
Crooked might be the first rapper in years to reference '80s synthpop band Depeche Mode in his lyrics. "Coke game is rocking like Depeche Mode," he raps. "Texting codes so feds don't know about the next load."
Give "February 12 (Part 2)" a listen and head to iTunes to pre-order Statik KXNG.
Quotable Lyrics
On Wilshire & Fairfax, same place that they clapped Biggie
Got the strip with me, in New Jack City they act shifty
This is deeper than rap, don't take these corners for a joke
It's 99 degrees outside, why you think he wore a coat?
