London rapper Jay Prince has been steadily gaining a following over the past few years. He has been silent in 2016 so far, but dropped “Heights” this morning.
Prince spits a sing-song flow about coming up with his family in East London, rapping quickly along with the beat. It’s an upbeat positive track produced by Deryck Cabrera from all the way in Brazil. It’s unclear how that collaboration came about, but the production is wavy in the best way possible, combining mellow keys with trappy snares and bass. It reminds us a little of Chance the Rapper.
Are y’all feeling Jay Prince? He's embarking on a headlining tour shortly, so if you're in Europe check out the dates.
Quotable Lyrics
And I've been feeling kinda different for the latest
and I can tell you how I did it on the daily
another nigga telling me I can't make it
you mess around and make a nigga feel jaded
