Hodgy Beats continues his practice of dropping songs in three. On Sunday he dropped off “Fathers,” “DirtyJerz” and “Makaveli,” all of which
As the name suggests, “Fathers (lofi)” is a song about fatherhood. Hodgy recently had his first child, and he raps about how the birth of his son has changed his perspective on life. There is definitely some bitterness beneath the surface of the song as well, as his father left his family’s life early on. It’s pretty great to hear Hodgy turning a negative experience into a positive one.
Hodgy Beats flips a Young Roddy song for the beat, and it’s chilled out boom-bap affair (as many of his other songs have been).
Quotable Lyrics
For as long as I’m alive, hoping these residuals last
business is focused on an individual’s path
usually I’m rolling weed or sipping a flask
I’m beautifully changing my ways, man my kid is a blast
