Detroit emcee Elzhi has stuck to the underground after leaving Slum Village, content to be one of the most skillful lyricists in the game today rather than a major label star. He’s been silent for five years now, last releasing his re-imagining of Nas’ Illmatic, titled Elmatic. We highly recommend you check it out if you haven't already.
"coSIGN" is Elzhi’s welcome back to the game after a few years battling depression. He reminds everyone (and himself) that he got here without any industry help or cosigns from bigger artists. Skonie closes out the song with some golden vocals.
With skill like Elzhi’s, we hope he doesn’t disappear again anytime soon.
Quotable Lyrics
Slit his tongue for tryna spill venom
the wiser soldier knows I’ll fold your clothes
while ya still in em
till I’m swimming in women between the coastline
know it happened without a cosign
