New York rapper Your Old Droog takes us back to an earlier era in New York, when he used to kick it at “forty deuce,” the New Yorker’s affectionate name for Times Square. He shouts out a ton of recognizable spots around the tourist trap, including The Hard Rock Cafe and Grey’s Papaya. If you’ve ever been to New York City, this’ll take you back.
Marco Polo creates a funky boom bap beat, using the shortened bass sound not unlike DJ Mustard’s signature bass hit. He uses vocal samples as percussion, and old school trick that sounds great in its limited use here.
