Dam-Funk's 2013 7 Days of Funk album with Snoop Dogg still slaps harder than ever. In theory, Dam could be content to call that his magnum opus, rest on his laurels, and coast for the rest of his career. But Dam is a man on the move. In 2015, he released an album Invite the Light before capping off the year with a slew of 20 new tracks. This afternoon, he liberated another loosie, an instrumental titled "Special Friends."
With its oddly mesmerizing drum groove and airy synths, "Special Friends" continues in Dam-Funk's quest to bridge the gap between G-funk and P-funk
The track will appear alongside "O.B.E.," another Dam-Funk standout, on a 12-inch vinyl. Cop the vinyl here.
