New track from Montreal's Ana Log: "Brain & Blood Centre."

Here's another cryptic but strangely soothing record from Montreal's Ana Log. On "Brain & Blood Centre," the rapper/producer builds a light, dancey instrumental, over which he connects on a series of deadpan, thought-provoking raps.

"Brain & Blood Centre," more or less, deals with the strange and never-ending conflicts between one's critical thoughts and one's bodily impulses and desires. It sounds heavy-handed, but it's actually a relatively relaxed record to which you might find yourself zoning out.

"Brain & Blood Centre" is Ana Log's first drop of the new year, following December's "Sweater Weather Freestyle," which finds him reinterpreting a song by California indie band The Neighbourhood.

Quotable Lyrics

Fuck trust, move on as one must
Friends and loose ends might collect some dust
But I always come through, when life is unjust
