You know it's gunna be a good ass day when Mick Jenkins releases two songs, and it's not even Noon yet. Since he released his project Wave(s), he's given out a few features, but these are his first solo releases since the album.
It appears the two songs are part of a bigger project, or perhaps an EP, titled Sip! The single art reads: "A collection of shit I've been working on with THEMpeople." THEMpeople are frequent collaborators of the Chicago native, so it's unsurprising that they've got a lot of stuff in the stash.
"$3,000 Advice" is full of water references/metaphors, Mick's favorite beverage and analogy. THEMpeople cook up a smooth, billowing beat that moves back and forth between closed hi-hats and snare drums. Enjoy.
Quotable Lyrics
Not a player yeah but I crush a lot of herb
Roll a big L, talking real smooth
Know it sit well, knowing me
That ain't nothing but the poetry
Soul in it, bring the symmetry
Or the synergy, or the flowetry
Is you feeling me
Cause your energy is so flowery
I mean, I'd pay that dowry
