Best Of Me (Mya Cover)

It's hard to imagine what Father covering a classic Mya song would sound like, and that's probably because a faithful interpretation of the track isn't really a vocal possibility for the Atlanta rapper. As consolation, the Awful Records leader turns the record into a creeping, semi-spoken word, ambient muse. Applying his very matter-of-fact rap style to the verses, he calls new attention to the lyrics of the record.

The wandering, futuristic instrumental sounds like something fellow Awful artist Abra would sing over, which makes us curious what she would do with a song like this. Both Father and Abra are said to be readying new projects, so we're excited to hear what they have for us in 2016.
