To ring in the New Year, as well as to look back on a very emotional 2015, Boosie Badazz dropped a surprise album, In My Feelings (Goin Thru It). The cover art shows an X-ray on which there's a red splotch over the kidney area, referring, of course, to his recent battle with cancer, which he thankfully defeated last month with the successful removal of the cancerous kidney. And indeed, he addresses said battle straight up on "Cancer," some of the realest, most painful shit ever released by the Baton Rouge king of "reality rap."
"Father God, I need answers," Boosie asks, wondering why the disease continues to haunt his family. He takes listeners through the entire ordeal, from the diagnosis, to crying in his mother's arms, to his existential panic before going under the knife. It's harrowing stuff, as is the rest of the album.
