Based on his musical output, Freeway appears to be doing much better after being diagnosed with kidney failure in September. After dropping an emotional track called "Heaven" two weeks ago, the Philly Freezer returns with "Wasted," the second track he's released since his diagnosis.
Between "Heaven" and "Wasted," producer Merc Beatz is clearly all about these pitched up vocals. Not mad about it. Freeway reflects on his time serving to the fiends, getting locked up, and how drugs have the capacity to destroy -- "waste" neighborhoods." As Freeway now knows more than ever, time is precious. Here's his outro:
"I'm living, I'm still living. Yeah, my kidney's bad, but I'm still breathing! We gonna keep pushing... oh, by the way I'm on that list -- that new kidney on the way."
Quotable Lyrics
All my homies wasted, whole neighborhood wasted
Didn't finish school, that's more time wasted
He was high when he died, he gon stand in front of God
