UPDATE: The full version of "Tatted Angel," including an additional verse from Ferg, has arrived!
In late October, A$AP Ferg revealed the title of his upcoming long-awaited sophomore album, Always Strive and Prosper, which will hopefully arrive shortly into 2016. Today, Ferg comes through with his first new solo track, "Tatted Angel," since he put out his Ferg Forever mixtape last November. And it's a beauty -- produced by the always reliable Hit-Boy.
Over the atmospheric Hit-Boy production, "Tatted Angel" is some of Ferg's most personal work, and it shows off some of his most impressive lyricism to date as well. The new song finds him reminiscing about all he's been through in the last year or so, shedding light on some of the hardships that may be related to his lack of recent output. He also reflects on the death of A$AP Yams and how fame led to the downfall of the A$AP Mob co-founder.
Ferg shared the new song on Twitter and included this message to his fans: "A few words to my day 1s to let y'all know what I been going through."
Quotable Lyrics
Sometimes I wish Yams was never usin'
When we toured the U.K. I knew I'd lose him
He went to rehab a year before and he seen improvement
But the fame and access is what abused him
But he in heaven now and I know God'll use him
