On November 23, HNHH will premiere the new EP from Alumni spitter Sean Brown, The Ground Up. There will be 8 new tracks on the project, all produced by Brown himself. Today, Brown has shared the first track off the EP, "The Gospel," and it's some uplifting material perfect for the beginning of the week.
"The Gospel" features a feel-good instrumental, as Brown lays down a beautiful soul sample and shows off his scratching skills in the process. Brown relays personal lyrics about his tiresome grind and how he manages to wade through all the nonsense and appreciate each new day.
"The Gospel" is a promising preview of The Ground Up. Head here on November 23 to download the EP.
Quotable Lyrics
They say the game is oversaturated, why you do it
Been in my crib for 5 years without a 9 to 5
Might as well keep the dream alive and I ain't gonna lie
Some bills probably ain't gettin' paid on time
That's my business, what's it matter what I do to you?
Ask 'em that question, and these n*ggas ain't got a clue
