Shawn Harris, the Minneapolis rapper formerly known as Nikko Lafre has been slowly transitioning from hardened street rap to something a little more songwriting-oriented. "Fifth Of Henny" found him working with different dynamics in his voice, and "Dear Damisha" continues that tangent.
The record finds him blurring the lines between singing and rapping, and while inflecting his sound with R&B, not once does he find himself approaching Drake territory -- avoiding the imitation many of his peers have opted for in favor of carving out his own lane. Harris is readying his Damisha EP for December release, and judging by a couple of lines on the new track, it should be something special.
Quotable Lyrics:
But I'm in the A
Working on a tape
And I got a feeling this gon' be the one
Yeah I know I told you that you'd be the one
And that's what you'll be when it's said and done
Dear Damisha
