P Reign was quiet for much of the year, but recently, he's come back with a few nice tracks. "On a Wave" was premiered on OVO Sound Radio last month, and earlier this month, he dropped off an unexpected collab with Young Scooter. His new track, "I Want You Back," is something new entirely -- a heartbroken apology to an ex lover.
Reps Up producer Pro Logic lends soft and teary beat led by a high-pitched vocal sample, and P Reign proceeds to bear his soul like few rappers would be brave enough to do. He likely knows he can't salvage the relationship, and you can hear his pain through his raps. This the deepest track we've heard from P Reign in some time, and it should fit nicely on his upcoming Off the Books mixtape.
Quotable Lyrics
I never gave up on you
But I'd be lyin' if I told you I was waitin' on you
Still wishin' we was back in the class
But let the past be the past, and pray the memories last
