Kweku Collins impressed us with his experimental EP, Say It Here, While It's Safe, coming to each song with an admirable positivity. Not everyone can be so extremely based at all times though, as Kweku's newest record gives us another, more aggressive side of the rapper. "Hoopdi" finds him getting a little darker in his delivery and choosing production that hits a bit harder than his usual bright sounds.
The territory suits Kweku just as well, and as usual, he finds absolutely every possible pocket within the beat to stretch his versatile flows over. His reach has extended far outside of his hometown of Chicago, as he's slated to play a Boiler Room set in NYC on October 17th. Look out for him.
Quotable Lyrics:
It would be forever agitating
To balance what I'll know and what I'll never
Ever really understand completely
Ever really recall every detail
