Overdoz make their return with "Why We Never Leave The Ghetto."

It's been a pretty slow/long roll out for the L.A. collective Overdoz's debut album. We spoke to the group about their debut, titled 2008, in February but we haven't really received much new information since then. They last single they delivered was the funky Pharrell-featured-and-produced "Last Kiss" in May, but today they've finally returned with a new single. "Why We Never Leave The Ghetto" has another touch of the old school (g) funk, thanks to a sample of the Dogg Pound's "What Would You Do?" Terrace Martin and Fred Wreck are responsible for the production.

In addition to production from Terrace Martin and Pharrell, Overdoz will have production from Organized Noize on the album. Catch our interview below if you missed it, while we wait on a release date.

Quotable Lyrics

Mama told me to be a scholar
I told mama I'm a stoner
Shit my first car was a green Impala, you shoulda known
Pop's found out from smelling my car one morning
After being with the homies, but he ain't trip on me
Cause at that time him and my grandma was still smokin
Apples don't fall far from the tree
