If you remember, funk legend George Clinton made a guest appearance on Kendrick Lamar’s sophomore album, To Pimp A Butterfly, on the track “Wesley’s Theory.” So to repay the favor, it’s only right Kendrick hop on one of George’s record, and that’s just what he did.
Funkadelic, the group led by George Clinton, released a new EP today called Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard on You? which features K. Dot on various remixes of the single of the same name. Take a listen to the funky new joint and let us know what you think of K.Dot’s verse?
In other related news, it was just revealed earlier this week that Kendrick’s next single off “TPAB” will reportedly be “These Walls.”
Quotable Lyrics:
Why you hate to work for it
The reason why I hate to wait for it
See a nine to five was so jive turkey
But when Thanksgiving came that check didn’t hurt me
You plead the fifth, I read the fifth amendment
We both criminals with bad intention
They say time heals all, but if I could short cut my success mother funk all ya (straight up)
