Bryson Tiller and his signature brand of new wave R&B is about to blow up. The fact that he just had his new single, "Exchange," premiered on Apple Music signals that he's probably already got a Drake cosign -- in fact, whomever took the decks after Drake during the last few minutes of OVO Sound Radio was playing Tiller last night. His latest is a sexy, after-hours cut on which he spits serious game but doesn't sound too polished, still maintaining that raw appeal of a grinding artist from Louisville, Kentucky.
The Mekanics-produced beat warps an R&B sample into a drawn-out, crooning melody that properly matches the energy of Tiller's deeply personal sung bars. His slight southern accent is another thing that sets him apart from the plethora of young artists making similar music.
Look out for Tiller's debut album, TRAPSOUL, on October 2.
Quotable Lyrics
I hope she's waiting for me
Everywhere that she go, they playing my songs
That's why I say the things that I say that way
I know you can't ignore me
