Strangers

Hodgy Beats shares "Strangers".

Since the members of Odd Future took their respective paths, many of the group's members decided to remain under-the-radar. Earl Sweatshirt's reclusive I Don't Like Shit. I Don't Go Outside saw him further retreating from the spotlight, and Hodgy Beats has kept a similarly low profile. Half of MellowHype, once one of the more aggressive acts within the collective, Hodgy's new track, "Strangers," finds him in more meditative territory, breaking out his always-underrated singing voice.

Even on dreamier production, Hodgy's rap style is still punchy and confrontational. Halfway between the tried-and-true stoner rap of Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y, and something a little more contemplative, it's a comfortable spot for Hodgy.

Quotable Lyrics:
I tilt the whiskey 'til I'm feelin' tipsy
Ridin' from the studio
With lean on me like Nipsey
Listening to "Lean On Me"
While leaning on my steering wheel
Under the seat, machinery
The beams on me, I'm here to kill
