A lot of big projects dropped this weekend -- a new Logic album as well as a surprise EP from Jeremih and three new "Meekend Music" tracks from Meek Mill. And that wasn't all. Please avoid sleeping on the new Johnny Cinco tape, John Popi 2. It contains 19 new tracks, and most all of them are innovative examples of Atlanta trap. One of the obvious standouts is the smooth, introspective "Pourin' Up," which features a close collaborator of Cinco's in YFN Lucci.
The soft Trap-N-B collab is one of the catchier tracks on the tape, but it's also one of the deepest. Both trappers are so bold with their vocals. Cinco is more experimental with his flows and lyrics, while Lucci delivers the chills with how determined he sounds when he comes in a little over halfway into the track. Watch our On The Come Up interview with the "Key to the Streets" singer here.
Lucci also shows up on the John Popi 2 track "I Know." Other features on the project come from Trouble and YFN Trae Pound. Download the tape here.
Quotable Lyrics
Lookin' at my Rollie, that's a whole 'nother time
Popi out in in Paris, sippin' lean like it's wine
Said she never seen a n*gga like my kind
Need the bitch a hunnid, I ain't got time for a dime
