Tinashe's going full steam ahead with the rollout for her sophomore album, Joyride, and while we're sure to hear some bright pop moments from the LP (which features contributions from Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Nic Nac), she's begun the new era with a dark, heavy record with assistance from a solid cast of beatmakers (Boi-1da, Illangelo, Vinylz, and Allen Ritter).
"Party Favors" is a good segue from Aquarius, featuring a moody, but very pulverizing instrumental reminiscent of "Cold Sweat," before surprising with a sticky turnaround on the hook that hints at the big melodies we're likely to hear on the rest of the project. Young Thug shows up briefly, but as always, makes it memorable. Look for Joyride very soon.
