OR!ON is rapper based out of Buffalo, New York, and it's clear his closest major city is his biggest influence. "Graduation Day" features a more modern take on boom-bap with a well-placed vocal sample played throughout. More than anyone out of NYC though, the rapper bears the closest resemblance to J. Cole, possessing the similarly hoarse, passionate delivery, as well as the personal writing style. The track finds him reflecting on his time spent in high school post-graduation, as well as dealing with the anxiety of what's next.
"Graduation Day" has placed OR!ON among this week's final four Heatseekers. If you like to have your song or video featured on the site, you can submit content to us here.
Quotable Lyrics:
I mean freshman year
It was all about passin'
Sophomore, junior, it was all about asses
Senior year was stackin'
But now it's all over
And I'm askin' "what's supposed to happen?"
