New Orleans' Pell hasn't yet announced plans for a new full-length project, but he's returned mid-summer with some great new tracks. At the end of last month, we got "Vacation (Whole Week)," and this week, he's given us a new one called "Vanilla Sky."
The powerful track has two distinct parts to it: the first has Pell singing over piano some Twin Peaks-style guitar; for the second, the beat kicks in and Pell starts rapping with a seemingly tireless ferocity. He definitely proved himself to be one of the most versatile young rappers we've heard in a while with his last project, and it sounds like he'll only improve upon it next time around.
Quotable Lyrics
Fingers just started itchin'
Lotion can't really fix it
Throw money at me I catch it
Don't worry 'bout how to pitch it
