The other week, OG rapper Scarface revealed the artwork, tracklist and release date for the long-awaited Deeply Rooted (announced back in April 2014), due out on September 4th. The album is a 15-track offering with appearances from Nas, Rick Ross, John Legend, Cee-Lo Green and more. We're excited to premiere the first official leak off the album today, "Steer," featuring a rising L.A. singer Rush Davis. The record has hints of electronic in the sample, with heavy bass lining the production-- it's a modern direction for Scarface. The veteran MC told us, "'Steer' is about that part of being a grown man, when you recognize you’ve gotta turn to a higher power to keep pushing."
Stay tuned for Deeply Rooted. Be sure to pre-order the album and cop this single when it goes live on iTunes at midnight.
Quotable Lyrics
Paranoid, got me running for my life now
Homicide, questioning my mama and my wife now
Parking lot, full of cops, got the dogs out
Running, chest burning, out of breath
About to fall out
