With everyone going crazy for Future's new album right now, Vic Mensa chose the perfect time to debut the CDQ version of his "Codeine Crazy" cover. We previously saw the rapper perform the record live at the Pitchfork Music Festival, but now we have the official audio. Vic has been experimenting lately, debuting a new hyped up EDM collaboration with Skrillex (and co-production from Jahlil Beats) at the end of last week. Here we see him take a completely different approach, as he croons over the guitar-strumming cover, giving the song the same chilled out feeling that was found on Future's original, despite the instrumentals varying.
Give it a listen and let us know what you think of Vic's take on "Codeine Crazy."
Quotable Lyrics
They want you to think that your wings melt when you make your dreams real
So Black boy don't fly too high
Gotta keep my niggas with me like a seat belt
They my ride or dies, we tryna be the ones you idolize
And it's getting close, I feel the shit approach
When you making plays you don't have to sit in coach
