21 Savage has been having a pretty good week. Not only is Thanksgiving about to pop off, which itself, is reason enough for anyone to be happy, but the rapper landed the cover of the FADER, is -the- featured artist to tap (YG, Fetty Wap, Young Thug, Drake, Meek Mill all seem to concur), received an official stamp of approval from Kylie Jenner, and now, one of his Savage Mode singles is officially platinum. Being a 21 Savage fan isn't too shabby either this week-- it sounds like we'll be getting another dose of Metro x Savage records for Savage Mode 2.
Nonetheless the replay value of Savage Mode is so high, that we'll be fine without a Savage Mode 2 for a while. "X," 21's record that throws his success right in his ex's face, has moved over a million copies since July, thus earning a platinum certification from the RIAA. This serves as 21's first platinum plaque, but by the looks of it, it will not be his last.
"X" is also climbing up Billboard's Hot 100. It reached its peak position so far, at #36, this past week, while the album Savage Mode remains at #29 on the Billboard 200.
Congrats to 21 Savage!
