Just under a month ago, London MC Little Simz dropped her EP AGE 101: DROP 4, and already, she's back with more new music. "Lane Switch" is one she debuted at her excellent, high energy show in Brooklyn last Friday, and it sounds just as good on headphones as it did on the venue's speakers. Check it out.
Going in over muted-but-upbeat production from RASCAL, Simz surveys her surroundings, and leaves with the impression that she should be more guarded and wary of shady folks. She also rallies against complacency-- hence the song's title-- and parallels this by continuing to show her versatility with each new drop.
Little Simz's debut album is on its way.
Quotable Lyrics
You can never gas me, I've heard way too many lies
So please don't say to impress me
That shit don't impress me
Labels and boys are the same, they just want to undress me
