Thundercat blesses this Thursday with new track "Them Changes."

After incorporating "Them Changes" into his live set for months, Thundercat dropped the studio edition of the Fly Lo-co-produced track today via the Brainfeeder Soundcloud page. "Them Changes" opens with what sounds like the drums from The Isley Brothers' "Footsteps In The Dark" which Ice Cube famously sampled on "Today Was A Good Day." And then Thundercat enters the fray with his virtuosic bass and macabre lyrics, making the track simultaneously dark and light-hearted and eternally groovy.

Thundercat's upcoming album The Beyond / Where The Giants Roam, slated for release on June 22, will feature the keyboard stylings of Herbie Hancock and contributions from Fly Lo, Mono/Poly, and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, who most notably arranged a bunch of Dilla beats for a full orchestra.

Check out Tha Cat's upcoming tour dates and see if you can see his musical genius in the flesh.

Quotable Lyrics

Nobody move, there's blood on the floor
And I can't find my heart.
Where did it go, did I leave it in the cold
So please give it back, because it's not yours to take.
