Papoose is among the crop of New York rappers who have spent the last two months or so jolting new life into bygone beats from their city (there should be a name for this phenomenon-- any ideas?), and today he's back with another. This one comes in over The Alchemist's beat for Prodigy's "Keep It Thoro."
Rapping atop the staccato piano chords, Pap talks about transporting bricks to Atlantic City, and lashes out at side-switchers, who he suggests are treasonous. The subject matter's nothing new, but as usual, he delivers every bar with conviction.
Papoose's album You Can't Stop Destiny is coming soon.
Quotable Lyrics
They a bunch of switch-siders, they don't keep it legit
If you look close enough, you can see when they switch
Anything to get ahead, they be treason and shit
But they know they scared to die, don't believe in them pricks
