For a certain subset of rap listeners (myself included), Main Attrakionz's 808s & Dark Grapes 3 is one of the year's most anticipated projects. The long-awaited follow up to 2011's ... Dark Grapes 2, it'll be entirely produced by the duo Friendzone (who've worked with A$AP Rocky, among others, in the past). After receiving the incredible, uplifting "Ain't No Other Way" last month, it's our pleasure to premiere the project's latest cut, "Dip."
Paying homage to Bay Area legend Freak Nasty's "Da Dip," the duo of Mondre Man and Squadda B do their respective things over a pillowy beat from Friendzone. It's yet another feel-good anthem in their repertoire, and should provide some much-needed chill in the next few months.
808s & Dark Grapes 3 arrives on June 30th via Neil Young's Vapor Records. As you can see in the above photo, Mondre's already repping for the Canadian legend.
Quotable Lyrics
Evolve like an alien, to Mars we takin' 'em
Known to flip shit, used to do gymnasiums
Now we do venues and get more paper on 'em
That rectangle flow, niggas all know, come fuck with G.O.
