While DJ Premier's signature sound will never get old, the DJ is still very capable of experimenting outside of his lane. Recently, he collaborated with Russian producer BMB Spacekid, and the two crafted a funky futuristic R&B record for Anderson Paak to add some inspired vocals on.
It's certainly a far cry from the 90s New York minimalism the DJ Made his name on, and that's a pretty exciting prospect. In a day in age where we're seeing many DJs cash in on EDM crowds, this is a pretty respectable move. We're hoping to hear more from these guys soon.
Quotable Lyrics:
Runnin' on the payment
Workin' like the grave shift
Trying to make my way in this bitch
What I'm gonna do when the youth is gone?
What I'm gonna leave for my son?
