Earlier today, precocious lyricist Bishop Nehru announced a new EP that'll precede his official Mass Appeal, Nehruvia. The similarly-titled Nehruvia: The Nehruvian EP will arrive on May 11th, and accompanying the announcement are two new tracks from the eight-track project. We've already heard "Harmony In A Glass," and now here's "Breath (Prana/$pirit)."
With its predecessor being a little smoother and more down-to-earth, this one has Nehru occupying a cloudier, loftier headspace, going in about being "stuck" in his spirit. With a central lyric of "breath is the spirit," it's easy to see how he hit it off so well with MF DOOM, whose most celebrated album contained a song full of such higher-consciousness musings.
Quotable Lyrics
I cherish every breath
Ever since an asthma attack in the past had me a gasping mess
Felt like I was addressing death, but fortunately I wasn't next
And they told me hold it and inhale the rest
