Ta-Ku has become a well-respected producer in the SoundCloud sphere, and that's definitely trickling over to real life. The Australian native may not make a frequent appearance on HNHH, but he's nonetheless been on our radar. In 2013 he linked up with JMSN for "Make It Last," off his EP of the same name. The two have connected once more for Ta-Ku's new project, Songs To Make Up To, and this time we also get a Soulection producer, Sango, in the mix. The song is lush but not over-the-top, consisting of multiple instrumental and vocal layers, with a hint of '90s r'n'b and a hint of gospel. That all changes when the outro kicks in though, with the two producers stripping down the layers and throwing in a bassline.
Songs To Make Up To is due out on June 12th via Future Classic/Fool's Gold. Cop this first single on iTunes.
Quotable Lyrics
You know I don't mean to hurt you
But we all know that I might
And I know that I don't deserve you
But you saved my life
