The artist may leave the island, but the island never leaves the rapper.
Trinidad James sends out major island vibrations on"Trini Wolve$," the leadoff song from Trinidad's new mixtape Trips to Trinidad EP. 808s and trumpets and James's joyful vocals. He has said the EP is "dedicated to my roots in Trinidad and the Laventile Projects."
Clocking in one minute and 35 seconds, "Trini Wolve$" is short and sweet and serves as a microcosm for the whole EP -- creative, random and only four tracks in length. Seriously though, why didn't he make it longer?
Quotable Lyrics:
Blowin ganja with the older niggas
Working on my wisdom, nigga
My thoughts cold, my nigga
but my soul's still soul.
