On 4/20, Curren$y will drop his second release of 2015, Even More Saturday Night Car Tunes. Today, we've got the first taste of the five track project, the Cool & Dre-produced "Rhymes Like Weight."
Despite the title, the song's instrumental is breezy and feather-light, propelled by electric guitar and woozy keyboards. Over this wavy backdrop, Spitta gets into a groove with his flow, rapping that he almost got popped for a pack of some "Audio Dope." The theme of music-as-drug has been a prevalent one throughout the New Orleans native's career, and thusly "Rhymes Like Weight" feels like a fitting new chapter in Curren$y's career.
Quotable Lyrics
Miles away from 'em, shine from above 'em
Enlightened 'em, you could say I sonned 'em
Stunned 'em, run up and then we out gun 'em
Firepower, smokin' flowers, time is money
