As Pro Era's resident double threat, Kirk Knight has been honing his skills in the booth and behind the boards with a smattering of solo tracks over the past year or two. His last, "Brokeland," was very good, but "Give 'Em" might even be better.
Whereas its predecessor was very by-the-book with its boom-bap beat and Brooklyn-referencing hook, "Give 'Em" has a creepily synthetic beat that would probably give Statik Selektah nightmares. The song's atmosphere is expertly constructed, with deep, buzzing bass interweaving with snake charmer synths to create the aural equivalent of dense humidity.
Let's hope Kirk drops a new project soon.
Quotable Lyrics
The sweetest flow, giving you a sugar rush
We hold glorious, impervious, young dust trust
Better believe I won't stop until
My kinetic energy brings Zeus to his knees
