If you're still not listening to Dot Demo, now's a better time than any to start. The NYC native behind last year's sneakily great Delta Theory tape has returned with a loosie entitled "Black Sinatra," and fittingly, it's an elegant, luxurious affair.
Clad in a black fur coat, Dot goes in over an expertly-flipped sample that continues to build as the song goes on. It's cribbed from a bygone, ballroom-heavy era of music, and sounds lush as hell behind the vocals on here. "Wise up, we're talking to wise guys or you'll get sized up and sidelined," Dot raps, sounding venerable beyond his years.
Quotable Lyrics
If it ain't 'bout dineros
Then I advise you to keep shut
Blank canvas, three bucks
Bitch pay me, I need some kinda cut
