Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of Mexican pop star Selena's untimely death, and while we saw a lot of great pieces published in the singer's memory, there weren't too many musical tributes. Today, we've been given a new homage to Selena from a surprising source-- Chicago's King Louie.
Teaming up with Jessie Reyez, a songwriter from Toronto (supporting that Louie may actually be signed to OVO, as his face tattoos suggest), the rapper lends his vocals to an acoustic guitar-driven ballad. If you've yet to check out Louie's most recent project, Tony, make sure to head here and give it a download.
Quotable Lyrics:
When his momma got the news
She broke down, she couldn't take it
Back then she didn't know me
Now she know I'm sacred
